Description
Responsibilities:
- Instruct students in the proper execution of sport-specific techniques, strategies, and conditioning; provide education through practice and individual/small group workouts, in-game adjustments, film study, lecture, individual skill instruction, and other approved teaching methods. Provide instruction in the same ways regarding leadership development and team building.
- Develop and maintain positive, effective communication with student-athletes. Meet with small groups of student-athletes and individual student-athletes as needed.
- Utilize video or sport-specific software programs for coaching, instruction, contest preparation, and completion of scouting reports.
- Recruit highly qualified student-athletes to a competitive academic and athletic environment through phone calls, electronic communication, video conferences, personal visits, and attendance at recruiting events; identify prospects through the use of scouting, video evaluation, communicating with coaches, and other methods.
- Assist in travel coordination for team trips and recruiting trips.
- Assist in program fundraising, alumni relations, clinics, and community service projects.
- Promote the women's basketball program through developing/maintaining a positive team social media presence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution plus a minimum of three years playing/coaching experience at the college level; proficient in computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and social media platforms; proven ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socio-economic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity; available to work evening and weekend hours and to travel extensively, often by airplane.
- Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record that is insurable by Colorado Colleges motor vehicle insurance carrier.
