Description
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of all aspects of the game of basketball.
- Familiarity with university policies regarding athletics, Division II basketball programs, MIAA rules, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Successful completion of the NCAA D2U modules.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of practice and game preparation as directed by Head Coach, including but not limited to offensive and defensive drills, individual player improvement, game organization, and pre-season and post-season improvement programs example: weight room.
- Assist in the recruitment of players by identifying and assessing talent, communicating with prospective recruits.
- Responsible for academic supervision of players including, but not limited to classroom checks, arranging study halls and tutoring sessions, and communication with an academic advisor and Faculty Athletic Representative.
- Responsible for building good relationships with players, faculty, staff, boosters, and the community, monitoring possible disciplinary situations, serving as a liaison between players and Head Coach.
- Coordinating travel for the entire program including all logistics for any recruiting, team travel, and reconciling in Workday for all three facets for the program.
- Game film coordinator. Breakdown and analysis of every game/practice for education sessions to head coach and to student-athletes.
