Reporting to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach assists with all aspects of the Women’s Basketball program, which includes recruiting, training, and coaching student-athletes participating in the sport. As a member of the Jewell Community, the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach is fully responsible for compliance with all College policies and procedures in addition to all applicable bylaws of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). At William Jewell College, Intercollegiate Athletics are a meaningful part of a student’s educational experience and valued as a co-curricular activity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in physical education or related field is preferred with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in academic program of study.
Progressive experience as a coach in the sport, with collegiate experience preferred.
Familiarity with appropriate athletic governing organization rules and regulations (NCAA, GLVC).
Strong interpersonal and organizational communications.
An understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges in the environment of private higher education.
Have, or be willing to obtain, a Missouri Class E Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Ability to work in varying temperatures.
Ability to lift 25 pounds.
Evening and weekend work required, out of town travel required.
