Saint Mary's Hall seeks a passionate, energetic Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach who strives to build a highly competitive and challenging program for SMH student-athletes while supporting the school's mission. Saint Mary's Hall is committed to offering a rewarding experience for the students while maintaining high academic standards. An SMH coach is an individual who seeks excellence daily while teaching life skills that will benefit the student-athletes within the program for many years to come.
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, the Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach should model and maintain an exemplary studentathlete concept and the personal development of a studentathlete whose on and off the court/field behavior reflects favorably upon the Saint Mary's Hall community in general and the athletics program in particular.
- Responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Coach in all areas of the Women's Lacrosse program.
- Ensures the highest professional standards and behavior regarding adherence to TAPPS rules and regulations.
- Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary, and personal matters while adhering to Saint Mary's Hall and FERPA guidelines.
- Participates in annual continuing education programs as assigned.
- Coordinates and assists the administration with the home and visiting teams' gameday activities (scheduling practices, setting up and breaking down equipment and personnel, setting up the field, etc.)
- Works with the Director of Communications to communicate the accomplishments and endeavors of the team, both individuals and as a whole.
Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of fundamentals, technical aspects, and strategy for Women's Lacrosse.
- Ability to attract and retain qualified athletes and to facilitate timely progress toward graduation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn, apply, and adhere to TAPPS rules and regulations.
- Ability to interact well with officials, coaches, parents, and the public.
- Ability to work with students of all backgrounds and mentor studentathletes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments on campus.
