Description
Reporting to the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach, the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach to ensure the program’s success as directly related to the skill development and performance of the student-athletes, as well as the recruitment, retention, and conduct of the student-athletes. All staff members are responsible to adhere to the policies, procedures, and guidelines of Hofstra University and follow the job requirements specific to the assignments inherent to women’s lacrosse.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with player development as it relates to proper technique, advanced skill instruction and competition strategy along with team building.
- Assists with evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes.
- Lead by the Head Coach assists in evaluating the performance, conduct, and abilities of individuals and groups as assigned.
- Responsible for program planning, contest preparation, scouting, film breakdown, practice sessions, game day activities, coordinates game and practice schedules.
- Assumes responsibilities of the head coaching duties in the absence of the head coach when required.
- Monitors and aids in areas as assigned including all compliance forms (ex. CARA LOGS), travel itineraries, strength and conditioning, camps and clinics, recruitment, admissions, academic pre-reads, NLIs, academic enhancement, equipment, financial planning and budgeting, purchasing, and fundraising.
- Available to participate in public relations activities, community outreach programs, marketing and development initiatives as well as alumni engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 2-3 years collegiate coaching experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
