Serves as an assistant to the women’s soccer and softball program; works with the head coaches in recruiting, games, practice and assists the head coaches to provide a positive experience for student athletes while positively representing the Institute in terms of public relations and exposure.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred; degree in physical education or sports related field preferred; Prior experience as a collegiate student-athlete or coaching at the collegiate level in a related field required; demonstrated ability to recruit academically oriented student athletes required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as an assistant coach in the sport of women’s soccer and softball; Assists and helps organizes and administer competitive Division III women’s soccer and softball program’s within the philosophy of an academically demanding engineering and science program; Assists women’s soccer program and adheres to all policies and duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Soccer Coach; Assists softball program and adheres to all policies and duties as assigned by the Head Softball Coach; Recruits qualified student athletes; Explains and demonstrates principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of body, hands, or feet to achieve proficiency in activity; Observes students during practice to detect and correct mistakes; Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations; Organizes and conducts competition and tournaments; Keeps record of receipts and expenditures; Other duties as assigned.
