Description
This full-time position reports to the Head Women’s Soccer Coach and is responsible to assist in all phases of the University’s women’s soccer program.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Effectively assisting in coaching a competitive DI women’s soccer program in a manner, which promotes sportsmanship among athletes, ensuring compliance with all NCAA conference, America East Conference, and institutional rules and regulations;
- Effectively assists and performs on-field instruction, video presentations, and training sessions
- Effectively assisting in recruiting qualified student athletes to participate in the women’s athletic program, and effectively promoting Bryant University academic and athletic programs to potential students;
- Ensuring that players associated with the women’s soccer program are eligible under NCAA and America East Conference regulations;
- Assisting the Head Coach in developing and implementing clinic(s) and summer camp(s),
- Effectively monitoring student athlete academic progress; referring or counseling where appropriate.
- Establishing and maintaining a professional demeanor with student athletes, parents, staff, guidance counselors, the community and the media;
- Developing and overseeing a video technology system to ensure accurate and timely equipment inventory, repair, replacement, issue and retrieval; coordinating various activities involved in scheduling facilities and events.
Qualifications:
- This position is best filled by an individual with an undergraduate degree and four or more years of collegiate soccer playing and coaching experience, successful recruiting, coaching and counseling of student athletes at the Division I level.
- High-level playing experience, tactical and technical knowledge are preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; experience motivating and supervising athletes and students, and a thorough understanding of and experience with NCAA rules.
