The Assistant Wrestling Coach assists with managing all phases of the NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling program. The Assistant Coach aids in designing/leading practice sessions and match preparation. They assist in the recruitment of prospective student athletes. The Assistant Coach will counsel student athletes on some academic and other issues. This position receives general supervision. This position reports to the Head Coach and supports coaching practices, match management, travel arrangements, talent evaluation, scouting of opponents and on/off campus recruiting.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
3-5 years of relevant experience.
A minimum of 3 years experience in coaching and/or playing at the collegiate or professional level is required.
Demonstrated knowledge and success in coaching at the collegiate or professional level.
The ability to work within NCAA and Patriot League regulations.
Strong technical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Must possess skill, knowledge and enthusiasm and have a background in college/professional and/or club wrestling.
It is also important that the person conducts clinics, camps, or coaches outside teams- remains active in the local wrestling community.
