Description
The intercollegiate athletics program is an integral part of the university striving to achieve the same standards of excellence in athletics that exist within academic programs. The program is concerned with the physical and mental welfare of the student and strives to ensure that every athlete has the opportunity to succeed academically and obtain a degree.
Job Duties:
- Work with designated weight classes.
- Help head coach identify and recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes with outstanding character.
- Establish recruiting mailings and schedule.
- Transcripts and initial evaluations of PSA’s.
- Scout Opponents.
- Build relationships with coaches, parents, alumni, and student-athletes.
- Assist Head Coach in conducting practices and overall training plan.
- Liaison to strength coach.
- Oversee Club program.
- Assist in program fundraising.
- Oversee student-athletes and assist with financial aid, housing, etc.
- Oversee match day preparations.
- Coordinate incoming student-athletes admissions.
- Team Retreat and Team bonding exercises.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Combination of Division I collegiate wrestling/coaching experience preferred. Knowledge of NCAA rules required.
- Required (may obtain and maintain immediately following hire): CPR/First Aid, NCAA Rules and Regulations certification.
