Description
The associate athletic director is responsible for administrative duties within the athletic department, including, but not limited to: athletic team travel planning and organization, director of year-round intermural programs, and other duties as assigned by the athletic director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in sports management, physical education, athletic coaching, recreation or another related field required; Master's degree preferred
- Five years successful experience working in a collegiate athletic program, preferably at the NAIA level.
- Ability to serve as a strong Christian role model/mentor for student athletes and actively contribute to the spiritual development of athletes.
- Must possess strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal in the performance of job duties
- Ability to complete tasks that have set deadlines.
- Understanding of how to develop a competitive sports program with knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations,
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
Essential Functions:
- Manage, coordinate, and develop all aspects of athletics team travel.
- Manage, coordinate, and develop all aspects of the university intramurals programs.
- Recruit, organize and develop intramural staff.
- Provide administrative support in athletics.
- Assisting with athletic fundraising, alumni activities and public relations as needed.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Foster a cooperative work environment and providing mutual support with all constituencies and colleagues.
