Associate Athletic Director for External Operations & Sports Information

The primary responsibilities of the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations & Sports Information are to oversee the external operations of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department including Creative Direction of Marketing and Branding, Ticketing, Sports Information, Community Relations, and Athletic Department Events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the Sports Information Director and all Sports Information work.
• Lead staff including full-time, grad assistant, and student employees.
• Assist in on campus marketing and branding of IWU Athletics and IWU Athletic events.
• Oversee the design and development of athletic department promotional and advertising materials.
• Assist in building and maintaining corporate relationships and sponsorships for the IWU Athletic Department.
• Collaborate with IWU Community Engagement Director in developing a comprehensive IWU Athletics Community Engagement Plan that includes all athletic teams.
• Cover Sports Information responsibilities for assigned teams as needed.
• Assist in planning and implementing key department events such as Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony, Golf Outings, Athletic Chapels, Athletics End of Year Celebration.
• Assist in planning and implementing fundraising events on and off campus including facility rentals.

Qualifications: 

• Must have an earned Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree in the field of Sport Management or Athletic Administration is preferred.
• Participate as requested in committees, councils or professional organizations that pertain to this position.
• Maintain a professional image and manner consistent with Indiana Wesleyan University’s mission and goals. Support the policies of the student handbook with integrity.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and create an environment of quality and innovation.
