Description
The Associate Athletic Director for Operations is responsible for the management, planning, and execution of all athletic operations at the institution. This role oversees facilities, event management, transportation logistics, and equipment management, ensuring that the athletic programs run smoothly and efficiently. The position requires collaboration with coaches, staff, and external partners to deliver high-quality experiences for athletes, coaches, and spectators.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure athletic events and facility operations comply with institutional and league policies.
- Develop and oversee the onboarding process for athletics staff and ensure all comply with institutional and league policies.
- Oversee equipment procurement, inventory, and maintenance in compliance with safety regulations.
- Oversee the scheduling, and operation of all campus facilities, with special attention given to athletic facilities.
- Plan and manage the logistics for athletic events, including setup, security, ticketing, and teardown.
- Ensure all events run smoothly, addressing any operational issues that arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field; master’s preferred.
- Five years of progressively increasing responsibility in athletics, including head coaching, budget management, scheduling, and strategic planning
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
