Description
The Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Health, Performance and Well-Being will coordinate all healthcare activities for our teams and student-athletes and act as the primary contact with the NCAA Sport Science Institute. With the NCAA designation as a healthcare administrator, he/she will serve as a collaborative, innovative, and effective leader to oversee the health, performance and well-being of Butler student-athletes as we seek to meet the mission of Butler University.
Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership, development and oversight of the Sports Medicine Department, Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition and the Well-Being staff.
- Serve as hiring manager, supervisor, and evaluator for Head Athletic Trainer, Head Strength & Conditioning coaches; conduct selection and coordination of multi-specialty doctors, clinical sports psychologists, dietitian(s), and additional personnel as needed. Coordinate the delivery of effective and safe healthcare practices to student-athletes through compliance and outstanding customer service.
- Provide effective leadership, development and oversight of the Sports Medicine Department, Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition and the Well-Being staff.

- Lead activities that comply with Federal and State healthcare laws, HIPAA and student-athlete healthcare privacy. Guide risk management, quality initiatives and compliance on State Board of Health guidelines, student-athlete healthcare documentation, equipment compliance records and EAPs. Lead personnel training, competency assurance and annual continuing training compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, sports business, kinesiology or a related field.
- 6 or more years of demonstrable leadership experience in collegiate athletics, sports medicine leadership, or strength and conditioning.
