Description
The Associate Athletic Director 6-8 supports the Middle School Athletic Director in managing and enhancing the middle school's athletic programs. This position involves collaborating with coaches, student-athletes, faculty, and staff to promote a positive, inclusive, and competitive sports environment. The Associate Athletic Director 6-8 will assist with program development, scheduling, compliance, budget management, and facilities oversight, ensuring that all sports and activities align with the school’s educational and athletic philosophy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with the athletic department to plan, organize, and oversee athletic programs, events, and activities.

Assist in improving athletic programs which will include assessing coaching effectiveness and evaluating team performance.

Manage inventory of athletic equipment, uniforms, facilitate repair, replacement, and upgrades as needed.

Distribution and collection of all uniforms for MS.

Implement additional uniform items/spirit pack policy for practice gear.

Manage scheduling of practices and games for all MS sports.

Manage equipment organization and preparation. This includes storage areas, equipment preparation for all teams, and postseason inventory collection.

Organize venue set ups in coordination with the operations department.

Attend weekly transportation meetings to review all needs.

Assist the athletic department with major events. This includes homecoming, open house, parents meetings, etc.

Ensure coaches compliance with certifications

Serve as a point of contact for parents, students, and community members regarding athletic events, policies, and programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in athletic administration, education, sports management, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 1 year in athletic administration, coaching, or a related field, preferably at the middle school level.

Familiarity with the “language of sport” required.

Strong organizational and communication skills, with an ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.

Ability to maintain confidential information as appropriate, i.e. academic and health records, and personal family information.

Strong organizational skills, such as the ability to balance multiple projects and changing priorities without losing focus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work in a complex team-oriented environment in order to accomplish department goals and objectives.
