Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees efforts to enhance the student-athlete experience through development and life skills programming involving community service events and projects, career planning, personal development, leadership guidance and other areas of interest;
- Oversees the delivery of support services to student-athletes including equipment management and athletics training;
- Ensures student-athlete welfare is addressed in conjunction with all applicable University policies and procedures;
- As assigned by the Athletics Director, serve as Sports Administrator of assigned sports programs to provide leadership and counsel to coaches on a broad range of daily, on-going and annual administrative services of assigned sports while ensuring excellent academic and competitive performance;
- Serves as liaison between the Athletic Department and the Nagatani Academic Center, Faculty Athletics Representative, Office of Title IX and various units within the Office of Student Affairs (e.g. Admission, Financial Aid, Judicial Affairs, Registrar, Housing, Health Services, etc.);
- Serves as part of the departmental response team and reporting line involving student-athletes in cases of emergency and crisis that occur during non-business hours.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, athletics administration, physical education, recreation, education or related field;
- Three (3) years of athletic administrative experience at the Division I collegiate level or any equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Demonstrated strong administrative, communications, and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to gender equity and diversity;
- Demonstrated commitment to thorough understanding of, and implementation of programs and procedures to ensure full compliance with the NCAA, conference and institutional rules, regulation, and procedures;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the role of intercollegiate athletics as part of a university educational experience.
