Description
Assist the head coach in maintaining a highly competitive Division I women's basketball program to include coordination of the recruitment process of prospective student-athletes, practice and game coaching, fundraising, guidance of assistant coaches and administrative personnel in the office, and to act as a liaison with campus units such as the Compliance Office, Sports Performance and Student-Athlete Academic Support units.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- Candidate must have a minimum of five years of coaching experience and a thorough knowledge of recruiting practices and NCAA regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and prior experience in a supervisory role are recommended.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
- Travel is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Prepare practice and game plans as needed for pre-season, in season, post season and summer trainings.
- Develop and teach drills and techniques that advance player development.
- Analyze, create, and deliver scouting reports to direct and guide strategies for upcoming opponents.
- Provide in game assessments in real time to implement necessary strategic adjustments.
- Collaborate with staff, attend practices, and assist head coach in drill and scrimmage situations to best prepare the student-athletes for successful competition.
