The Associate Director of Athletics Communications reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications and is responsible for coordinating outgoing messaging to shape, enhance and protect the Baylor Athletics brand and image, by monitoring public perception and through verbal and digital communication with media and constituents. Applicants for this position must have a minimum of a Bachelor degree and one year of relevant work experience. A Master degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred.
Job Duties include:
Serve as the primary public relations practitioner and media liaison for assigned athletic programs and assist with all media needs pre- and post- competition
Ensure flow of information (social media, statistics, video, press releases, etc) are timely and accurate
Maintain historical archives to ensure program history is preserved for future generations
Monitor public perception of assigned athletic programs and coordinate strategic messaging to media and public
Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff
Travel with assigned sports programs as necessary.
