The Department of Athletics at Saint John’s University invites applications for the full time (.75 FTE), benefit-eligible position of Associate Golf Coach/Intramural Director. The Associate Golf Coach/Intramural Director reports to the Director of Athletics. The Associate Golf Coach is responsible for conducting the Saint John’s Golf program with integrity and under the rules and mission of Saint John’s University, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and NCAA Division III. In the role of Intramural Director, the hired candidate will report to the Athletic Director while responsible for the development, scheduling, staffing and management of Saint John’s men’s program and co-rec programs with the College of St Benedict.
Baccalaureate degree (master’s preferred). Proven golf coaching experience. Proven golf recruitment experience. Budget experience Expertise with current technology in the golf learning center (golf simulators, putting green area-maintenance). An understanding and appreciation for the character and success of the Saint John’s University Athletic Department and its programs. An understanding of the mission of NCAA Division III athletics and the importance of athletics to the educational process and to Saint John’s University. A willingness to work days, nights and weekends. Literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal relations skills to build positive working relationships with internal and external clientele. Strong organizational skills Solid leadership skills. Ability to supervise and lead student workers. Ability to work with minimal direct supervision and take initiative in the completion of work assignments within required timelines. Self-motivated and results oriented. Ability to collaborate as a member of the Athletic Department and Student Development teams.
