Associate Professor of Physical Education Teacher Education

The Department of Kinesiology, Sports Studies, and Physical Education (KSSPE) at SUNY Brockport is seeking an Associate Professor, tenure track position in Physical Education-Teacher Education to begin January 1, 2025.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned doctoral degree in Physical Education-Teacher Education or related field from an accredited US Department of Education or internationally recognized college or university by the time of appointment.
• Established record of effective teaching in lecture and laboratory-based courses in a Physical Education-Teacher Education program.
• Established record of maintaining an active research agenda, including presentations at national/international conferences and publications in peer-review journals.
• Established record of providing service to the department and university, and profession, including holding leadership positions.
• Established record of working effectively with students, public, college community and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Physical Education from state of origin.
• Experience teaching Physical Education in K-12 schools.
• Experience with CAEP accreditation.
• Experience supervising student teachers.
