Asst. Women’s Basketball Coach

Georgia College & State University is seeking an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach who teaches our student-athletes the intricacies of the game of basketball all the while preparing them for life after college. It is our goal for each member of our teams to become leaders in their community and productive members of society. With our teaching our athletes about time management, teamwork, and leadership, we feel as though we fit well within the mission of this university.

Responsibilities:

• Recruitment of quality Prospective Student Athletes who meet (first) the mission of the university and (second) will contribute to our athletic program being as successful as possible within the Peach Belt Conference and the NCAA. Ability to successfully pass the NCAA recruiting test administered annually.
• Provide phenomenal academic support for student- athletes; monitor grades and attendance; provide and supervise study sessions; provide tutors for student-athletes as needed or requested.
• Other duties as described by the Athletic Director. This person will assist in fundraising activities as well as community engagement and the engagement of the remainder of campus. This person may serve as game manager for sports other than women's basketball. They will help build community support for all of our programs as well as helping to bring the remainder of campus closer to athletics.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• One year collegiate coaching experience or having played at least one year of professional basketball.
