Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate Massachusetts Certification for the Athletic Director position.
- Building Level Administrator and/or Certified Athletic Administrator.
- Minimum of four years coaching experience.
- Experience in fostering a culture of collaboration and unity between the high school and other schools in the district.
- Professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, families, coaches, advisors, school personnel, district administration, vendors, and the community.
- Ability to use technology and social media for communication, promotion, and preparation of budgets, schedules, etc.
- Highly-organized with excellent communication skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and collaborate on retention-focused events and activities, including but not limited to, visits by DRRHS to each middle school, promotion of the Green & Gold Night Open House, family information nights, “middle school nights” at DRRHS, and shadow days.
- Solicit annual feedback from 8th graders and their families regarding their choice of high school.
- Assume leadership for the development and implementation of improvements and additions to interscholastic athletics and activities programs within the district’s philosophy and goals.
- Prepare and oversee the annual budget, complete all inventories, requisitions, purchase orders, and other budget-related materials.
- Assume responsibility for implementing all rules and regulations established by the MIAA, MSAA, and Massasoit League.
- Provide supervision of coaches and advisors to monitor the district’s academic standards and eligibility and report these to the school principals on a regular basis.
- Must be proficient in technology-based skills in areas, including but not limited to, Google Apps, Microsoft Office software, Aspen/student databases, Arbiter scheduling, social media, GoFan, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through to meet interscholastic athletic requirements, ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff issues, and fiscal responsibility in the areas of school budget.
- Plan for cleaning, reconditioning, and storage of all athletic department uniforms and equipment.
