Athletic Coach: Assistant Girls Varsity Tennis Coach

St. Paul Academy and Summit School seek candidates for the position of Assistant Coach for the Upper School Girls Tennis Team. Candidates will be required to demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication skills with students, and other coaches. Strong candidates will have a thorough understanding of the skills and techniques for tennis. All coaches should support the mission of SPA and be able to contribute to the life of the School outside of the classroom.

Responsibilities:

• Creating a positive environment that promotes good sportsmanship towards opponents, spectators, and teammates.
• Assist with instruction of players in rules, regulations, skills, and strategy of tennis.
• Collaborate with the Head Varsity coach to create organized and effective practices that progress throughout the season - Organize and directs individual and small group practice activities.
• Provide effective supervision and evaluation of all athletes during practice and competition
• Tracking student-athlete progress.
• Follow established protocol in the event of an injury.
• Participate in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, and award ceremonies.
• Participate as a positive team member in the development and support of excellence within the Athletic Department.
