Athletic Coach – Head Cross Country Coach

Athletic Coaches develop a competitive and representative team in the sport to which assigned. In doing so, our Coaches emphasize developmental ideals of teamwork, leadership, character, athletic skills, and wholesome attitudes amongst teammates and sport participants.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assists in maintaining high academic standards for all student-athletes.
• Assists the Athletic Director and Principal in the hiring and/or retention of Assistant Coaches.
• Directs, supervises, and evaluates regularly the performance of all Assistant Coaches of the respective sport.
• Works cooperatively with the Athletic Director to ensure proper insurance coverage for all athletes.
• Works cooperatively with other Head Athletic Coaches in order to operate a well-balanced athletic program.
• Directs the training, conditioning, and performance of the varsity athletic team and leads, supervises, and assists the Assistant Coaches in their efforts with the team assigned to them.
• Acts as a positive influence upon the behavior of members of his/her athletic staff and teams.
• Engages and directs the team at all varsity contests and to be present at as many junior varsity and freshman contests as possible; supervises athletes at invitational meets or postseason competitions.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 18 years of age.
• One (1) year of coaching experience in the sport assigned.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to enroll and successful complete a CPR and First Aid training course.
