Description
Education, Certification, and/or Experience:
- Master degree in education or above from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Three years of successful teaching experience preferred.
- Head coach experience preferred.
- Valid Alabama certification in administration/supervision preferred.
- Experience as an Athletic Director or Associate Athletic Director preferred.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively establishes a vision for the Cullman City Schools athletic program and establishes three year plans that incorporate the established vision, facility maintenance and upgrades, pipe-line programs with area youth programs, and budgetary goals.
- Coordinates the 7-12 athletic program in collaboration with principals and coaches to ascertain programmatic needs on an annual basis, as well as prior to each season to ensure consistency of program.
- Collaborates with head coaches to schedule all athletic contests, issues contracts for the contest, and maintains the proper and necessary records.
- Collaborates with head coaches to ensure officials are scheduled and contracts are issued for all athletic contests.
- Prepares a master sports calendar that includes area and non-area games/events.
- Coordinates gym, building and athletic field use and maintains a district building use shared calendar.
- Supervises the preparation and verifies all athletic eligibility lists.
- Oversees the supervision of contest employees and volunteers who work the athletic contest. Works with the principal(s) to ensure there is adequate personnel to supervise contests as needed.
- Supervises athletic funds, prepares and administers a detailed operating budget for the athletic program and submits it to the building principal(s).
- Collaborates with head coaches in ordering all equipment and uniforms and maintaining a current inventory of all athletic equipment and uniforms.
