Description
JOB GOAL:
To assist the Principal with administrative and instructional functions to meet the educational needs of students and carry out the missions and goals of the school district.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate.
- Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Business or Athletic Administration.
- Minimum of three (3) years classroom teaching experience and/or administrative experience.
- Must show a working knowledge of the principles of athletic administration.
- Alternative or additional qualifications to the above as deemed necessary by the Superintendent.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implementing Manatee County School Board Policies and Procedures as it relates to students, staff, and school community.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating school philosophy, goals, and objectives reflecting district and state goals.
- Developing and maintaining a positive school/community climate and safe and healthy environment.
- Works with the Director of High Schools and other Athletic Administrators to provide a smooth functioning athletic program.
- Determine staffing needs including selection, supervision, staff development, and evaluation of athletic personnel.
- Organizes and coordinates personnel in areas of their assigned athletic responsibility.
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating the school athletic program based on student needs.
- Supervising pupil services (i.e. attendance, discipline, and counseling) as it relates to athletics.
- Demonstrate a proactive orientation in recognizing and solving school problems.
