Description
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary advocate for the athletic department, embodying the School’s values and mission.
- Forge and maintain strong relationships with coaches, students, faculty and staff, parents, and alumni to foster a supportive and enthusiastic athletic community.
- Engage with parents and the broader community to emphasize the importance of athletics in students’ development and the School’s mission.
- Promote and organize events, activities, and initiatives that enhance the athletic program's visibility and reputation within and outside the school community.
- Recruit, hire, evaluate, and mentor coaches.
- Ensure regular and relevant professional development for all coaches.
- Manage the scheduling of all games, practices, officials, and referees.
- Collaborate with school administrators in the creation and implementation of school athletic programs.
- Partner with the Facilities Team on care and upkeep of athletics facilities.
- Partner with the First Presbyterian Church Recreational Department for the collaborative scheduling of games and practices.
- Manage inventory of athletic equipment and uniforms, and facilitate repair, replacement, and upgrades as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Five to ten years of administrative experience in a school setting.
- Experience working in independent schools.
- Previous coaching and/or athletic administrative experience.
