Description
The Athletic Director oversees all aspects of the district's athletic program, including planning, staffing, budgeting, compliance, and program development. This role ensures all students have access to extracurricular athletic activities that foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth while complying with all local, state, and federal regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Coaching experience in various sports with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of athletic program operations and K-12 education systems.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Completion of state-required fingerprinting and criminal background checks.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and oversee the district’s athletic program, ensuring alignment with academic and community goals.
- Establish and verify eligibility criteria for student-athletes.
- Promote sportsmanship and student development through athletic activities.
- Use evaluative data to continuously improve programs.
- Schedule and coordinate all athletic events, including interscholastic games and non-school group activities.
- Arrange transportation, lodging, and meals for out-of-town events.
- Oversee ticket sales, officials, field maintenance, and facility preparation.
- Coordinates with the Head of School for administrative supervision or all home events.
- Arrange bus transportation and scheduling for academic field trips.
