Description
JOB GOAL:
To assist the principal in supervising the operation of the entire athletic program including the selection and evaluation of coaches.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Minimum of six (6) years coaching experience.
- Valid Alabama teaching certificate preferred.
- Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education regulations.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Keep the coaching staff and school informed of important decisions made by the AHSAA concerning athletics and student participants.
- Coordinate eligibility requirements for participation in all sports.
- Coordinate schedules of all sports and practices.
- Develop and administer the athletic staff budget.
- Make athletic purchases and expend athletic funds wisely.
- Coordinate the use, proper maintenance and care of all athletic facilities.
- Oversee all correspondence involving schedules, eligibility and contracts.
- Manage all athletic activities and assist with audience control, finance and security of facilities.
- Assist in the selection, assignment and evaluation of athletic coaches and staff.
