Description
Justin-Siena seeks an Athletic Director to begin service for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time position may also include coaching or the teaching of one class. Responsibilities include the oversight and coordination of the entire interscholastic athletic program, which offers a diverse group of students the opportunity to compete in a wide variety of competitive, interscholastic sports. Currently, the school offers varsity sports and a variety of competitive levels such as varsity, junior varsity, and freshman levels. Approximately 75% of the student body participates in athletics.
Duties:
- Supervision of all athletic department personnel and coaches.
- Partnering with HR regarding recruitment, interviewing, hiring and assignments of athletic department personnel.
- Developing and maintaining Athletic Department and coaches handbooks for annual review.
- Creation and enforcement of policies that prioritize student safety including injury prevention, equipment, and adherence to medical protocols.
- Supervision and coordination of supervision for all athletic contests as required by the VVAL, NCS, CIF, or Justin-Siena High School.
- Coordination of athletic facility preparation, ticket sales, management, and staffing for home contests.
- Representation of the school at league meetings.
- Consistent collaboration with internal stakeholders such as AdTeam, Advancement, Transportation, Finance, Outreach, Parents’ Association, and Lasallian Student Life offices.
- Development and management of an annual athletic budget that includes partnering with Finance/HR regarding stipend schedules, purchasing and maintaining inventory of athletic supplies, materials, and uniforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Athletic administration experience or experience leading an athletic program.
- A sense of diplomacy and the ability to build and sustain relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Ability to contribute to the school’s mission through active participation.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk on level, uneven, or slippery surfaces; frequently reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, grasp, and make repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties.
