Description
In working as the principal’s designee for sports and non-athletic activities within the high school, the Athletic/Activities Director will assume primary responsibility for coordinating all activities at the high school level including but not limited to planning, scheduling, budget management, and collaboration with the members of the high school’s professional learning community.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a thorough knowledge and adhere to all school, district, league and Colorado High School Activities Association) policies and procedures that relate to any athletic or non-athletic activity sponsored by the high school and School District 51.
- Coordinate, organize and manage all facets of home sporting events/activities and visiting groups. This includes responsibility for tickets and money; scheduling game workers, clock operators, scorekeepers, etc. Coordinate with the District Athletic Office for all school athletic travel requests as needed.
- Responsible for all the necessary paperwork involved with athletic and non-athletic activities including but not limited to, supplemental contracts for coaches/sponsors, inventories, purchasing records, code of conduct violations, concussion management, etc. Supervise the completion of student paperwork requirements prior to practicing or competing. This includes, but is not limited to, physicals, student fees, insurance coverage, student athletic contracts eligibility lists and participants’ lists.
- Assist in developing athletic schedules in coordination with head coaches, District 51 Athletic/Activities Coordinator, league mandates and the principal.
Qualifications:
- Colorado Principal/Administrator’s License required.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License required.
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field required.
- Successful experience as a Varsity Head Coach and/or Advisor at the secondary level required.
- Varsity Head Coach experience preferred.
