Description
The Athletic Director is responsible for all aspects of NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) Athletic programs. The Athletic Director (AD) is the chief administrator for the College’s National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) intercollegiate athletics program. The AD establishes and maintains policies and procedures to develop quality, competitive athletic teams and support the individual educational goals of each student athlete.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develops Athletic Department goals and objectives, establishes and maintains policies and procedures, and works closely with campus staff and faculty to support athletic-related issues.

Hires, supervises, and evaluates all NWACC coaches, trainers, and staff within the Athletic Department.

Ensures athletic programs comply with NJCAA rules, Title IX regulations, FERPA, and applicable college policies.

Represents NWACC in all national and regional NJCAA matters including meetings and trainings.

Responsible for the management and operation of all college intramural and club sports.

Manages the NWACC Fitness Center in all aspects including staffing, safety, usage, maintenance, etc.

Monitors roster goals and recruitment for all sports and supports the team and coaches in achieving those goals.

Ability to communicate effectively with various people, including staff, students, parents, and the public, in both written and oral mediums.

Demonstrated knowledge of NJCAA rules and Title IX regulations governing recruitment, player eligibility, and related functions.

Knowledge of college and community resources.

Proven record of commitment to student academic success.
