Description
Under the direction of the school site principal, and in cooperation with the staff of the department, the successful candidate will coordinate, implement, and evaluate the athletic program at the high school level in conformance with the high school handbook and relevant WIAA and Washington State regulations.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Washington State teaching certificate.
- Well-developed management skills, people skills and effective communication skills
- Demonstrated committment to high school athletics and experience with managing schedules, coaches, parents, and students in the context of secondary athletics.
- Well-developed management skills, technology skills, people skills and effective communication skills.
- Preference in screening of applications will be given to bilingual candidates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Hires coaches and arranges preseason meetings with coaches, parents, and athletes as needed.
- Assures that coaches and athletes adhere to relevant bylaws and regulations.
- Working with office staff, ensures that all athletes have complete required paperwork and other requirements. Examples include verification of physicals and insurance
- Schedules all competitions.
- Ensures that officials are available for all home competitions.
- Working with school administrators, ensures that student supervision at home events is provided as required.
- Working with office staff, provides revelant awards banquets and other athlete recognition events and assits coaches in doing the same for their teams at the end of each season.
- Working with Woodland High Schools staff, ensures that all athetes are academically eligible to compete and practice.
- Responds to parent and staff concerns promptly.
