Description
The Athletic Director creates and sustains an athletic culture founded upon the Gospel and the development of the whole child. The Athletic Director is a leader who develops, manages, and supervises the athletic programs through the lens of the mission and vision of the school. This position includes teaching 5th and 6th grade PE.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education and/or Sports Administration, Masters preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner.
- Ability to collaborate with and lead groups of various coaches.
- Ability to problem solve in multiple situations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to details.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Actively fosters Dominican Tradition and spiritual formation of students.
- Collaborates with and supervises the Assistant Athletic Director and coaches.
- Collaborates with teachers and supports the school culture.
- Supervises athletic events (both interscholastic and intramural), such as games, practices, meets, tournaments, and clinics.
- Ensures that all coaching positions are filled with qualified and trained coaches.
- Prepares equipment and aids and supports coaches and athletes.
- Maintains accurate records and equipment.
- Collaborate with the Overbrook Booster Club in order to ensure athletic growth in the department.
