Description
Farmingdale State College is a Division III member of the NCAA, competing in the Skyline Conference, offering 18 intercollegiate sports. The successful candidate will play a vital role in overseeing the management and operations of our Division III athletic facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of all athletic facilities, including fields, courts, gyms, and associated areas.
- Maintenance and Upkeep: Develop routine inspections, repairs, cleaning protocols, etc. to ensure facilities are in optimal condition.
- Equipment and Inventory: Coordinate with staff on the acquisition, maintenance, and inventory of athletic equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
- Event Coordination: Collaborate with athletic teams, coaches, event staff and external rental groups to plan and execute athletic events, ensuring facilities are prepared and meet the required standards.
- Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise facility staff, including fitness center and lobby student-workers and event personnel, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in sports management, facility management, or a related field.
- Three years of experience in athletic facility management, preferably in a collegiate athletic department.
- Solid knowledge of facility maintenance and safety practices.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Effective leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with facility management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work night and weekend hours is required, along with occasional travel.
