Athletics Coach – Volleyball

The Athletic Coach instructs student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. S/he also instructs students to formulate moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self- confidence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Works with Athletic Director to prepare budget for the sport being coached.
• Manages the ordering, inventory, repair, and cleaning of all sport-specific equipment.
• Works with Principal or Principal’s designee to secure officials for non-league home games.
• Works with Principal or Principal’s designee to make transportation arrangements for away games.
• Ensures completion of yearly physical exam and insurance coverage for each athlete.
• Works with Athletic Director, Counselors, and Athletic Office to confirm both residential and academic eligibility of each athlete.
• Distributes team rosters, contest schedules, and contest locations to all players and parents/guardians.
• Monitors athlete class attendance, behavior, and academic progress.
• Works with Athletic Director to establish set practice times and locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of overall operation of an athletic program.
• College-level Child Psychology Course or previous work with youth.
• Previous Coaching Experience or College level or higher playing experience in the sport being coached.
