Description
The Head Coach is expected to serve as the public face of the program, creating and maintaining a positive public image while recruiting and training Division I student-athletes to compete at the highest level possible. This position must also lead and maintain a Division I program through recruiting, on-field teaching techniques, scheduling, monitor academic progress, budget management, fundraising, as well as promoting the sport throughout the University and local community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3 years of baseball coaching experience at the collegiate or national level.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Essential Functions:
- Developing and maintaining a competitive Division I intercollegiate baseball program.
- Responsible for hiring, supervising, and evaluating baseball coaching staff.
- Directing all aspects of baseball staff in recruiting, scheduling, travel, practice, and competitions.
- Significant administrative responsibilities including the management of personnel and operations in the baseball office which includes budget planning, maintenance, and monitoring.
- Evaluating and recruiting qualified student-athletes to the University of Minnesota whose athletic skills make them highly competitive and whose academic abilities make them good candidates for meaningful academic experience and graduation from the University of Minnesota.
