Description
The Saturday Night Lights Basketball Program is seeking a passionate and dedicated Basketball Coach to join our team. As a Basketball Coach, you will be responsible for conducting skillset training, running basketball drills, hosting internal games and tournaments, and attending off-site basketball tournaments. You will also have the opportunity to attend professional and college basketball games.
Responsibilities:
- Skillset Training: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the basketball skills of participants aged 11 to 18. Focus on fundamental skills such as shooting, dribbling, passing, defense, and teamwork.
- Basketball Drills: Plan and execute various basketball drills to improve players' agility, speed, endurance, and overall performance.
- Internal Games and Tournaments: Organize and supervise internal basketball games and tournaments within the program to provide players with competitive opportunities and help them develop teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Off-Site Tournament Attendance: Represent the program by attending off-site basketball tournaments, providing guidance and support to participants, and fostering a positive competitive environment.
- Professional and College Basketball Games: Attend professional and college basketball games to observe and analyze strategies, techniques, and player performances. Share insights with participants to inspire and motivate them.
- Basketball Equipment: Possess thorough knowledge of basketball equipment, including proper maintenance, care, and usage. Ensure equipment is in good condition and available for training sessions and games.
- Recruitment: Actively recruit young people aged 11 to 18 to join the Saturday Night Lights Basketball Program. Collaborate with the program's marketing and outreach team to promote the program and attract new participants.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two Years of Basketball Caoching Experience Required. Preferably with youth aged 11 to 18.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, supervisor, and participants effectively
- Demonstrated professionalism and punctuality.
- Passion for working with young people and fostering their personal growth.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- CPR certification or willingness to become CPR trained.
