Boys JV Golf Coach

The JV Boys Golf Coach is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the boys golf program at the sub-varsity level in accordance with the school’s mission of building an inclusive community rooted in the Catholic faith that prepares servant leaders for a Christ-centered life. The JV Boys Golf Coach will strive to help each individual achieve a higher value of discipline, teamwork, good sportsmanship, academic achievement and self-esteem.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provides leadership that develops and promotes a unified athletic philosophy.
• Cultivates relationships with current and prospective students.
• Demonstrates proper sportsmanlike conduct and respect for players, officials, opponents, fans and other coaches.
• Understands and maintains the standards of the Catholic Central Athletic Handbook.
• Maintains good public relations with media, boosters, parents, officials, players and fans.
• Manages athletic activities, contests and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect and good sportsmanship.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, staff and school administration.
• Works with other members of school staff to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student-athletes.
• Ensures that all golf coaches work together toward a common goal within the golf program and provide unity for grades 9-12.
• Establishes performance criteria for competition and evaluates students’ athletic abilities on a regular basis.
• Takes all necessary precautions to protect student-athletes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
