The certified athletic trainer works collaboratively with the rehabilitation and medical staff to provide high quality care for patients as they prepare to return to sport from injury. Will assist with the administration of weekly clinic and surgical cases. Will work clinical with the Sports Medicine program.
Masters in athletic training, certified athletic trainer, licensed in the state of Washington required, certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist preferred. 3-5 years of experience preferred.
Provide athletic training services in sports health and medicine clinics to include; orthopedic evaluation, therapeutic exercise teaching and demonstration, assist with coordination of care, and assist health care providers in other needs during clinic.
Performs all aspects of clinical practice, including being responsible for evaluation and treatment of athletes according to standardized techniques, departmental standards, and age appropriate guidelines.
Provides patient and family education and maintains patient confidentiality.
Demonstrates appropriate clinical decision making in all aspects of clinical practice and determines proper equipment usage, application, and body position/mechanics in the administration of treatment. Is competent in usage of all equipment/modalities standard in the practice of athletic training.
Provide consultation visits in the rehabilitation setting in conjunction with rehabilitation staff for return to sport recommendations.
Complete all appropriate clinical and medical documentation of all care provided
This position may provide a practice/game/gym/athletic training room coverage dependent on staffing needs
Provide first aid and CPR education to high school coaches/parents as needed.
