Description
Under specific/routine supervision, the Athletic Trainer for Club Sports will primarily assist with overall care of men’s and women’s club sport programs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide coverage at assigned games and practice sessions.
- Serve as primary ATC for club football, men’s and women’s club lacrosse, and men’s and women’s club basketball and all other club team positions.
- Provide coverage at specified times in the Physical Education Complex.
- Provide quality care for athletic injuries including evaluation, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and related illness.
- Documents injuries through a system in compliance with HIPPA laws and regulations.
- Responsible for completion of clinic and insurance papers, coordinate arrangement of all referrals and treatments.
- Process insurance claims.
- Maintain confidentiality of information (including but not limited to student and employee personal information, student grades, etc.), both during and after their employment with the University. Any question regarding the confidentiality of material should be referred to the supervisor. Any violation shall subject the employee to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform athletic training skills for men’s and women’s club sports program.
- Knowledge of techniques for caring for injuries, rehabilitation, and prevention.
