Connecticut College is conducting a regional search for Coaching Women's Basketball to assist the head coach of women’s basketball with coaching/teaching during on-court practice sessions, off-court chalkboard and video analysis, in-game coaching and pre-game preparation, post-game debrief, student-athlete counseling sessions (academic progress, social parameters, role on team, skill/strategy development), recruitment, and operations management. This position is an academic year (40 week) appointment. While the Coaching Intern hours will vary week to week, on average this position will be scheduled to work up to 25 hours/week not to exceed 998 hours during the academic year. Compensation in addition to pay includes a limited College meal plan, and the opportunity to enroll in up to three courses at Connecticut College per semester at no charge if accepted as a Special Day Student.
Bachelor’s degree required with two years of basketball coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level and/or three years of collegiate basketball playing experience. Must posses a valid drivers license. Knowledge of NCAA and NESCAC rules, demonstrated leadership experience and effective communication skills, and highest ethical standards regarding sportsmanship, integrity, and professionalism.
