Description
He/she has a calling in his/her heart to serve God as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; who is assured of his/her personal worth and professional competence, both being in balance with the Scriptures; who leads a consecrated life before the Lord, co-workers, students, and parents, and is a committed follower of Jesus Christ. He/she shows a high degree of professionalism and responsibility in fulfilling his/her ministry as an employee of the Village Christian Academy.
Qualifications:
- Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior.
- Believe that the Bible is God's Word and standard for faith and daily living.
- Be in whole-hearted agreement with the school's Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education.
- Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.
- Meet the stress of athletic competition with emotional stability and positive words/actions.
- Maintain a personal appearance as a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and agreement with school policy.
- Use acceptable English in written and oral communication. Speak with clear articulation.
Duties:
- Provide devotion and prayer during each practice, intentionally leading athletes to grow in mind, spirit, and body. Remember, our mission is to develop Christian growth and leadership.
- Provide recommendations for off-season training and camp.
- Manage the balance of developing fitness and skill with beginners.
- Advise athletes in their pursuit of athletic goals.
- Teach the basic skills and the more complicated skills of the sport.
- Ensure that current physical, consent, and concussion forms are on file before a student-athlete begins tryouts.
