The Operations Manager for the Women’s Basketball program reports to the Head Coach for Women’s Basketball and under his/her supervision forwards the mission of the athletics program under the following objectives: 1) Assists with the academic success of all student-athletes and student managers by providing input and guidance on travel; by managing study hall on the road; and assisting academic counselors as a liaison to the program. 2) Fosters an environment of support and well-being within the program for all student-athletes by assisting them with resources and connecting them to experts in the department and on campus; 3) Assists the Head Coach in the recruitment of elite student-athletes; 4) As delegated by the Head Coach, will act on the programs behalf and manage all aspects of Conference Post-Season and NCAA/WNIT post-season travel and administration 5) Assists the Head Coach with annual program budget development and its day to day management; 6) Provides leadership to the program for Diversity and Inclusion efforts in the department; 7) Liaisons with donors, fans, and alums to provide each group a sense of connectedness to the program as appropriate; 8) May represent the Head Coach or otherwise provide input into facility improvement plans.
Experience with NCAA Collegiate basketball at the Division I, II or III level as a student athlete, full time coach, or administrator (OPERATIONS, VIDEO COORDINATION, etc).
Experience in camps management or similar event management activities.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
