Description
This 10-month staff position will act as a liaison to the media to publicize the accomplishments of Sewanee’s student-athletes and information about the athletic programs.
Typical Duties & Responsibilities:
- Produce media guides, recruiting brochures, and sports-related articles through interviewing, writing, editing, and coordinating publication processes.
- Communicate with media through email, fax, and phone to promote Sewanee sports coverage and accomplishments.
- Maintain intercollegiate contest statistics; complete and send reports to the SAA (Southern Athletic Association); obtain/send sports information from/to other athletic programs.
- Manage press box and arrange radio broadcasts for football games.
- Promote Athletics through social media.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-2 years experience in a college sports information office.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; technically competent in necessary forms of social media as related to athletics; experience with website and statistics software helpful.
