Description
Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Development, the Director of Athletic Development is responsible for managing a major and leadership annual giving portfolio and is expected to operate with a high level of independence and decision making capabilities and judgement. The key focus of this role will be in two areas. 1.) Major and leadership annual giving fundraising.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a portfolio of 100-125 prospects and actively cultivate, solicit and steward.
- Plan and execute personal visits with prospects and donors, as well as visits with Director of Athletics and Associate Athletic Director for Development to cultivate and solicit annual leadership gifts.
- Contribute to the development of a strong prospect pipeline through identification, validation, and cultivation efforts.
- Develop strategic relationships among athletic department staff, University Advancement, coaches, and campus colleagues that result in effective partnerships.
- Lead athletics parent giving - Strategically implement a plan to solicit, cultivate, and steward parents of current student-athletes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, along with the ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, in conjunction with comfort level of working in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects required.
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team environment.
- Personal solicitation experience required.
- Skill in use of personal computers, standard office software applications, and fundraising software, with an understanding of database management.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
