Description
The Athletic Director provides strategic vision and direction for the athletic department and competitive intercollegiate sports program. Intercollegiate sports include Baseball, Softball, Men's and Women's Basketball, Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Tennis, and Men's and Women's Track and Field, and Men's and Women's Cross Country. Additionally, Competition Cheer is also supported as a non NCAA sport.
Responsibilities:
- Serving as the college representative to the NCAA.
- Ensuring compliance with NCAA Division II regulations and institutional policies.
- Developing and implementing long-term strategies and facilities planning, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and priorities.
- Providing leadership for marketing athletic programs among students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community.
- Building relationships with donors, alumni, and community partners.
- Developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support athletic programs; carrying a fundraising portfolio and reaching targeted goals set annually.
- Maintaining an athletic departmental budget and providing oversight of team budgets, including approval of expenditures.
- Leading and managing athletic staff, coaches, and administrators.
- Ensuring academic support, athletic success, and personal development of student-athletes.
- Hiring, evaluating, and developing coaching staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of coaching and athletic administrative experience.
- A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept and a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of equipment or vehicle operated.
