Director of Athletics

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee an athletic program committed to glorifying God in teaching through competitive challenge.
• Lead coaching staff in the implementation of a Christian philosophy for athletics.
• Disciple coaches in their spiritual journeys.
• Provide vision for the program that can reach into the greater CSRA.
• Work with student-athlete leaders to build healthy culture within teams.
• Hire the best coaches who embody our mission and values by working closely with the Head of School and Principals to coordinate faculty-coaching hiring decisions.
• Promote healthy public relations between Westminster and the Augusta community working with the Director of Marketing/Communications to publicly recognize athletic achievement.
• Work collaboratively with the Athletic Booster Club and Athletic Council.
• Lead Westminster in its membership with GIAA and CSRA Middle School League.
• Oversees athletic and facility schedules and early dismissals working closely with division principals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and digital communication skills will be critical.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Coaching experience
• A working knowledge of independent school culture, safety regulations, admissions regulations, and injury prevention are encouraged.
