Director of Athletics

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage coaches and administrative staff under a framework that supports the institutional vision and values, department goals, and conference philosophy. The Director of Athletics is responsible for the administrative operations of the athletics department, including, but not limited to: departmental budget; student-athlete recruitment and retention; sports offerings portfolio, including new athletic programs; department culture; strategic oversight; assessment; compliance, and conference matters; student-athlete experience; fan experience; facilities rentals; game management; and fundraising, including alumni, donor, and sponsorship cultivation.
• Cultivate relationships with existing student-athletes through attending home athletic contests, visiting practices, and attending meetings and events.
• Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Advancement on alumni development, cultivation and stewardship, major gifts, annual fund, and sponsorships. Develop relationships with AIC alumni, local organizations, assigned prospects, and donors to promote giving opportunities.
• Review and update the athletics strategic priorities on a routine basis ensuring consistency with the College's Strategic Plan.
• In conjunction with Admissions, develop, monitor, and be accountable for annual recruitment goals.
• Assess athletics department staff annually based on established key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with the Office of Academic Affairs and faculty on academic program offerings and academic success of student-athletes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in related field, required.
• Master's degree in related field, preferred.
• At least five years of experience in a higher education athletics department.
• Previous experience as a coach helpful.
