Director of Athletics

Essential Duties:

• Assists in selecting, assigning and evaluating all coaching personnel.
• Assumes leadership role in the orientation and in-service training of coaching personnel.
• Represents the school district in matters of interscholastic athletics with the Arkansas Activities Association.
• Works cooperatively with building administrators and School Services personnel in the maintenance of athletic facilities.
• Is responsible for the organization, scheduling, and supervision of athletic events and facilities; maintains master schedule of events and facilities.
• Contracts officials for all home contests; schedules police, ambulance, and game announcers.
• Coordinates transportation for athletic activities.
• Fosters good school-parent relations by maintaining communications and serves as the supervisor of public relations for athletics.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) with a major in Physical Education.
• Five years experience as a teacher and coach.
• An administrative license is preferred, but not required.
• Valid teaching license for the grade level and subject area assigned.
