Description
As the Director of Athletics Communications, you will develop and execute dynamic communications strategies, maximize our digital presence (website, social media), and serve as the voice of Ephs Athletics to campus, families, alumni, recruits, and the media (NESCAC, NCAA).
Responsibilities:

Lead & Inspire: Be a key member of the Athletics senior leadership, guiding communications strategy and managing a talented team (including an Assistant Director and student staff).

Connect & Collaborate: Forge strong partnerships with the College Communications, Alumni Relations, and Development offices to weave athletics into the broader Williams story and support fundraising.

Create & Innovate: Oversee compelling content creation (stories, releases, social media), website management (ephsports.williams.edu), and cutting-edge communication methods.

Drive Game Day Excitement: Coordinate live stats, professional webcasts, and media operations for all competitions.

Represent & Advocate: Serve as the primary media contact and College representative with the NESCAC and NCAA.
Requirements:

Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

5 or more years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, sports management or similar field, with some direct experience in Athletics communications.

Proven leadership and management skills.

Expertise in and strong understanding of content management systems, such as Sidearm, Presto, etc.

Experience and expertise in various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram and Youtube.

Experience with graphics software, such as Canva and Boxout Sports

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated success at building collaborative relationships and meaningful interactions with various stakeholders such as: coaches, department staff, student-athletes, administrators, faculty, campus partners, alumni, and community members.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including frequent evenings and weekends to support events, and under the pressure of very tight deadlines.
